Top Ten Tuesday: Authors I Can’t Believe I Haven’t Read Yet

So the chosen theme is Sensory Memory for reading and I have been trying to figure out what to write for this post since Jana posted the theme! I apparently don’t have a lot of sensory memories when it comes to reading which makes sense because when I read I kind of tune out the world. My 6th grade Science Teacher, Mr.Cruz (he was a fabulous teacher!) used to try and break my concentration (sometimes he did but I would never tell him that!) and he would always talk about how he couldn’t believe that I could read in the cafeteria.

So I managed to come up with one!

When I was reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, my mom had gotten a new scent plugin thing for the kitchen and it smelled terrible (even though it was supposed to be deoderizing)! And for some strange reason I decided to read in the kitchen, so now those two are connected in my head forever!

And since that was my only one I am going to do, here is my new topic, Authors I Can’t Believe I haven’t Read Yet!

Rainbow Rowell (Carry On, Fangirl ,  Attachments , Eleanor & Park )

I have heard so many great things about Rowell’s books and I mean hello they sound so nerdy! And of course, that sounds amazing!

Adam Silvera (They Both Die at The End,  More Happy Than Not ,  History Is All You Left Me )

When I heard about TBDATE I was so excited to read it because the plot line sounds amazingly heartbreaking. I also own History… But in my defense it is on my nook which is something that I am terrible at reading with.

Sandhya Menon (When Dimple Met Rishi, From Twinkle, With Love)

I have heard great things about both of these books and they both sound fabulous!

Holly Black (The Cruel Prince, The Darkest Part of The Forest, Tithe)

I haven’t really been interested in Black’s stories before but after the popularity of The Cruel Prince I am interested in reading some of her stories!

Tessa Gratton (The Queens of Innis Lear, The Weight of Stars )

I did read a sampler of Queens and it was pretty interesting but it is a tome so I haven’t read it yet!

George R.R. Martin (Game of Thrones)

Like Queens, these books are tomes and I am kind of intimidated by books that are 800 pages and over.

Heidi Heilig (The Girl From Everywhere, For a Muse of Fire)

I was super interested in The Girl when it first came out (like a preordered it and everything) and I even met her (she is fabulous) but here we are; I still have yet to read it.

J.R.R. Tolkein (The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings )

Yes, I am sure you are thinking “You love Fantasy and you have yet to read Lord of the Rings?!?!?!?” I know I can’t believe it either and I swear one day, I will get there!

Amanda Foody (Daughter of the Burning City, Ace of Shades)

I love circus stories so Daughter was right up my alley and after the sparkling reviews of Shades (not to mention actually owning the book) I am still trying to figure out why I haven’t read them yet. (I feel like this is the story of my life)

Sir Authur Conan Doyle (The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, The Lost World)

I am a huge fan of Sherlock and I totally am the type of person that will not see a movie until I have read the book but I have seen so many Sherlock productions and read no books. Well if you to be picky, I have listened to the Fictional episodes that are about the stories of Sherlock.

I hope you guys enjoyed my theme switch up! I can’t wait to read all of your posts!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme by The Broke and The Bookish and is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

  1. I’ve read Martin, Tolkein, and Foody, but I have yet to read the others.

I tune out a lot when I’m reading as well. I had to think for a while to come up with ideas. Fortunately they publish the topics over a month in advance!

  2. I’ve only read one Rainbow Rowell (and a short story) but I really liked it- I need to read more of her stuff. And I’m hoping to try Holly Black soon! The cruel Prince looks great.

I hope you enjoy Tolkien when you get to him!

  3. Lovely choice for the week! I love, love, love Carry On by Rainbow Rowell and then Adam Silvera is a definite must! If and when you get to all of these authors, and their work, I hope you enjoy!
