Since I have done multiple posts about my favorite bookish places I figured that I would go with what places I don’t want to visit.
Panem (The Hunger Games)
Though I am 19 and safe from the reaping, I still would not want to live in this dystopian world.
Azkaban (Harry Potter)
A prison complete with soul-sucking beings is definitely not on my bucket list of places to visit!
Congo Jungle (Heart of Darkness)
The Congo Jungle might be beautiful but this story definitely makes me not want to go.
Longcross Hall (S.T.A.G.S.)
Though I have not had the chance to read this book yet, the idea of a going to a place with people who think “Hey, The Dangerous Game sounds like a really fun weekend idea!” is definitely a place that I don’t want to be.
The Castle from The Masque of the Red Death
Though this place is not as inherently terrifying as the others at first glance, I was never fully comfortable with the idea of visiting this castle.
Under the Mountain (ACOTAR)
This place sounds positively terrifying and I most likely wouldn’t even last a day here!
White & Black London (ADSOM)
If I thought that I would not last a day Under the Mountain, I surely would not last five minutes in Black London and as for White London, it depends on how well I play my cards I might be able to last a few days before the Dane twins or one of the other lovely citizens come to find me.
These places are a bit different as you can actually go see them!
The Overlook Hotel (The Shining)
I DO NOT do ghosts and other creepy things and I have listened to too many podcasts about the real hotel to even consider staying here! In the real world, it is called the Stanley Hotel.
The House on Ocean Ave in Amityville (Amityville Horror)
See above.
The Paris Catacombs (Paris Adrift and The Revolution)
Firstly, I am necrophobic so a place built out of skeletons definitely does not sound like a great way to spend an afternoon in Paris! Secondly, why does nothing good ever seem to happen here!
Amazing T10T! And… I agree with them all, hehe! Happy reading! 💗xx

Oh gosh, I didn’t think of Azkaban! What a great choice that is! I’d hate to be there…

Great list! Panem is a popular choice this week so to seem. I agree with your choices but I don’t think Azkaban qualifies as a full world because I would definitly want to live in HP world only avoiding that part of it.

I’d be safe from the reaping too, but I still don’t want to live in Panem!

I completely agree with you on The Library of Alexandria! That whole society is so weird! I especially hated the Ink Eaters. Just thinking about them makes my skin crawl!

I know, it’s quite unsettling really. Oh my gosh, I totally forgot about them, but yeah, they’re so creepy!

What a creative list! I wouldn’t think of most of these, but so true. Nope, nope to Amityville house. And you chose Heart of Darkness! Yea, no. Also, no to the Congo because of Michael Crichton’s book Congo…
